This is a post about why I love this verse of the song A Simple Desultory Philippic:
Rhiannon:
Right then, on to Season 2 – Episode 1 of Doctor Who (2006). Rose gives Mickey the shaft once again as she hurtles off to the universe with the new (new) Doctor. The way Rose is reacting to this Doctor, it seems she might be even MORE attracted to him…which makes ME more attracted to him…I know in my heart the previous Doctor loved her, whether he said it, or not (or whether it’s true, or not, I’ll just be delusional, it’s okay) we’ll see about this one.
RHIANNON:
I finally got the chance to watch Season 2 – Episode 1 of Doctor Who (2006) and I am actually going to write a commentary, much to Joseph’s contentment, I am sure. [She's right. -Joey]
I wrote this commentary as I watched, a bit how Joey writes his book commentaries. Before I started this episode, I remarked to him that Tooth and Claw are the names of the dogs in the Last Apprentice series by Joseph Delaney. So, I guessed there would be a dog involved. Here we go:
First of all, who is being devoured by what and why?
So is this Doctor rude, then?
There is a girl in the fire, who turns out to be the king of France’s mistress (Madame du Pompadour), and the Doctor snogs her and cracks the hell up. Wow! What!?
And now, inexplicably, a horse.
“You’re not keeping the horse.”
“I’m letting you keep Mickey!”
The Doctor has a point!
“Always take a banana to a party,” I’m learning so much from this episode…
